With Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich each winning one of the last three Republican contests, all eyes are on the Florida primary 2012 results.

The winner of Tuesday's election will get all 50 delegates, so whoever comes out victorious tonight -- even if it's Ron Paul -- will take the lead.

(Florida previously had 99 delegates to award, but the Republican National Committee penalized the Sunshine State for moving up its primary date, which violated party rules. So Florida, along with four other states, lost half its delegates to the August nominating convention.)

According to the latest polls going into election day, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney held a commanding lead, with 42.3 percent of the vote. Newt Gingrich, the former speaker of the House, who won in South Carolina just over a week ago, had 29 percent of the vote heading into Tuesday, while former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and Texas Rep. Ron Paul trailed with roughly 11 percent of the vote each.

Still, by the end of tonight's race, only 5 percent of the delegates will have been rewarded.

In 2008, Romney came in second place in Florida, losing to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) by five percentage points.
