With the 56th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Ohio St. Buckeyes offensive tackle Mike Adams. Adams is rated as the fifth-best prospect at his position and as the No. 50 player overall, according to Mocking The Draft's rankings. Adams' stock sustained some damage a week before the draft when it was reported that he'd tested positive for marijuana during the NFL's annual scou ting combine. The Steelers are building their line up again, selecting David DeCastro, from Stanford, in the first round and Adams in the second. In terms of Adams' on-field skills, Matthew Fairburn thinks the former Buckeye has the tools to be a starting left tackle at the next level. The former Buckeye will need to answer some questions about his motor, however.
